Samsung earlier in the month, unveiled the new SmartTag 2. Now, it is finally available in India.
It comes in a compact form factor and comes in 28.8 x 52.44 x 8.0 mm dimensions and weighs just 13.75 grams. It also comes with an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance rating.
With next next-generation Ultra Wide Band (UWB chip, it supports precision tracking with up to 120 metres range.
Also, it boasts a new Lost Mode feature as a safety net for lost articles. It makes use of the NFC display of the device to register the user’s contact information via a message.
And, with this, anyone who discovers an item with a Galaxy SmartTag2 attached can use his or her smartphone to scan the tag and see the owner’s message and contact information.
Though it comes in a compact size, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 can deliver longer battery life than the predecessor.
It supports SmartTag2 supports a new power-saving mode and an improved Normal mode.
With Power Saving mode, Galaxy SmartTag2’s battery can lasts up to 700 days, more than twice as compared to the previous iteration. Even in Normal mode, battery life is now extended to 500 days, a 50 per cent increase over SmartTag 1st gen.
