<p>Infosys, India's second largest IT services provider will be investing Rs 750 crore to set up a facility in Noida.</p>.<p>As part of this project, in the first phase of construction, the company is expecting to build a 2.7 million sq feet facility that can accommodate a total staff strength of 5,000.</p>.<p>The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated 27.5 acres of land in Sector-85, Noida for development of the facility, and on Sunday, company announced the commencement of work at the facility.</p>.<p>"It will be one the most sustainable projects in the region, with extensive efforts to minimize the facility’s carbon footprint by leveraging innovation and technology in the construction process," the company said in a statement.</p>.<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the project as part of 'Rising UP, Powering New India' event.</p>.<p>The ceremony marked the implementation of 81 out of the 1,045 Memorandums of Understandings (MoUs) signed at the Uttar Pradesh Investors' Summit, held earlier in 2018.</p>.<p>The projects launched on Sunday, are aimed at creating around 2.1 lakh job opportunity in the state, with an investment to the tune of Rs 60,000 crore.</p>.<p>"We're delighted that honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi felicitated our upcoming facility in Noida. The facility is a critical part of our effort to enhance our presence in the national capital region and leverage the talent pool available in this market. We are grateful to the state government of Uttar Pradesh for their support towards this endeavor," Salil Parekh, company's CEO and MD said.</p>.<p>The Bengaluru-based IT major said that the project's design will be done by RSP Design Consultants from Singapore and will aim to achieve a LEED Platinum rating, the highest level of certification for a green building, given by the US Green Building Council.</p>.<p>"The construction will begin as soon as the government approval is received," the company said in a statement.</p>
