If a person has a family history, doctors would suggest a blood test to identify the specific mutations in BRCA or other genes that are being passed through generations. Women above the age of 55, and those experiencing delayed menopause are at a higher risk of getting breast cancer.</p>.<p><strong><span class="bold">Infertility/ late pregnancy:</span> </strong>In general, women who have had children have a lower risk of breast cancer compared to women who have never given birth because there would be tissues accumulated in the milk-producing duct leading to breast cancer.
