<p>A one and half year old toddler girl fell inside a borewell in a village in Gujarat's Amreli area on Friday, prompting rescue operations, news agency <em>ANI</em> said.</p>.<p>The child is reportedly trapped at the depth of 45-50 feet.</p><p>A <a href="https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/ahmedabad/toddler-borewell-gujarat-amreli-rescue-operation-9392685/">report</a> in the <em>The Indian Express</em> quoted Himkar Singh, superintendent of police (SP) of Amreli that the incident took place when some children were playing. “The incident happened when a few children were playing on an agricultural farm and one of them somehow fell into the borewell there."</p><p>A rescue team was close to reaching the child inside the borewell, the report added. </p><p>In related news, media reports have said that Madhya Pradesh is the first state to prepare a law to prevent borewell deaths. </p>
