<p>The Centre has approved the renaming of Manduadih railway station in Uttar Pradesh as 'Banaras'.</p>.<p>The Uttar Pradesh government had sent a request for renaming the railway station in Varanasi district.</p>.<p>The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has issued for changing the name of the Manduadih railway station to 'Banaras'.</p>.<p>The railway station is situated in Manduadih area of Varanasi. It is also a terminal station of Varanasi. Following heavy rush at Varanasi Junction, the Indian Railways developed this as a high-facilitated terminal.</p>.<p>The home ministry approved the proposal for name change according to the existing guidelines in consultations with agencies concerned.</p>.<p>Before giving nod, the Home Ministry will have to take no-objections from the Ministry of Railways, Department of Posts and Survey of India, said an official in the Home Ministry.</p>
