India is second-biggest consumer, third-biggest producer of fertilisers: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28 inaugurated the Nano Urea (Liquid) Plant constructed at IFFCO, Kalol, at 'Sahakar Se Samriddhi' programme in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

“India is the second-biggest consumer of fertilisers and third-biggest producer of fertiliser. Seven-eight years ago, a majority of urea could not reach our farms and was destroyed due to black marketing. Urea factories were shut because of a lack of new technologies,” PM Modi said.
