<p>In connection with a case of opening fire at a house in Madikeri on Sunday, city Police have arrested two persons on Monday night.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The arrested are Akram (32), a resident of Mahadevpet and C S Lokesh (33), a resident of New layout. Both were working in a bar. The gun and bullets used for the crime have been seized from the arrested. Both the arrested have been remanded in judicial custody.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“The incident is an act of vendetta. However, the suspects had mistaken the identity. A person named Mahesh, who was out of the prison on parole was targeted by the arrested. An argument had recently taken place between Mahesh’s sister and the arrested and a case was registered in this regard. With an intention of taking revenge, Akram and C S Lokesh opened fire at the residence of LIC employee Janardan, mistaking it for the house of Mahesh’s sister. Both the arrested were in an inebriated state while carrying out the crime,” said the police.</p>
