<p>The state government will soon prepare an action plan to adopt Israel technology on drip irrigation in Karnataka, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy announced on Monday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Kumaraswamy received a report submitted by a high-level committee constituted to study the technology. The panel, among others, has suggested the optimal use of water, focus on rainwater harvesting, a strong policy to prevent harvesting of water-intensive crops and providing an incentive to micro-irrigation. The committee comprised ministers M C Managuli, N H Shivashankar, Bandeppa Kashemapur, Cooperation Secretary Manoj Rajan among others. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Kumaraswamy assured another delegation of farmers which met him in Belagavi that the government will make all efforts to ensure farmers get to make their sugarcane dues from the bill.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The delegation led by farmer leader Kodihalli Chandrashekar said the government should encourage the use of “vacuum packs” to ensure a long shelf-life for agricultural produce.</p>
