They are residents of Padavinangady, said police sources.</p>.<p class="bodytext">It is said that the detained had come to protest against Prakash Rai. The police detained the four till evening at Mangaluru East Police station and later released them, after issuing a warning of not to engage in such activities in the future, said the police.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The police had strengthened security at the Jana Nudi venue. DCPs Hanumantharaya and Uma Prashanth were at the spot monitoring the security measures, till Actor Prakash Rai left the venue.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking at the convention, Prakash Rai said “I heard a few had come for a ‘japa’ against me. Had I known this before, I would have asked the police to allow them inside the hall, so that I could have had an interaction with them.”</p>
