A sister venture of Bahuroopi publications, the Bahuroopi Book Hub is attracting discerning readers.</p>.<p>“We refrained from publicising our launch since we are still in the middle of a pandemic. But word got around and we’ve had a constant flow of customers,” says Dheeraj M H, director of the store.</p>.<p>As lockdown restrictions were relaxed in late-2020, a team of four, consisting of G N Mohan, Sreeja V N, Sreekanth K N and Dheeraj M H, came together to build a bookstore.</p>.<p>“From sourcing the books to finding a place and doing up the interiors, we did everything in the last three months of 2020. While Covid did cause some roadblocks, we figured out a solution for every problem,” he says. Bahuroopi Book Hub is a multilingual bookstore and features a curated selection. “The children’s collection especially has been a big hit,” says Dheeraj. The duplex bookstore has a designated kids’ zone with fun props and a reading area. It also runs a self-publication wing called ‘Nautanki’.</p>.<p>Over the years, Bahuroopi has won several awards at the national level.</p>.<p>The most recent is the runner-up prize in the ‘Best Book Cover’ category at the Publishing Next Industry Awards 2021 for ‘Duppattu’ by Rajaram Tallur.</p>
