<p>A fire on Monday destroyed a warehouse near Vrushabhavathi River and reduced cars parked outside to ashes. There were no casualties. </p>.<p>Residents of Channasandra, RR Nagar, initially reported a raging inferno in a heap of garbage dumped along the river. But the fire had actually started in garbage dumped in the warehouse. It spread rapidly and soon spread to buildings nearby. </p>.<p>Firefighters battled for more than an hour to control the blaze. B M Shekhar, District Fire Officer, Bengaluru North, said the fire was lit by a cigarette butt thrown into the garbage heap. </p>.<p>The fire has once again brought into focus the dumping and sorting of the garbage along the river. </p>
