<p>Bengaluru: A special court on Friday rejected anticipatory bail to Bhavani Revanna, wife of JD(S) leader H D Revanna, in the abduction case registered at KR Nagar police station in Mysuru rural district. Special court judge Santhosh Gajanan Bhat <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/karnataka/bhavani-revanna-seeks-anticipatory-bail-3042312">dismissed the application</a> after observing that the prosecution has made out a prima facie case against her.</p><p>In her application seeking anticipatory bail, Bhavani Revanna had contended that though not arraigned as accused in the FIR, she came to know from the print and electronic media that <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/karnataka/sit-issues-notice-to-bhavani-revanna-mother-of-hassan-sex-abuse-accused-prajwal-3046082">she had been issued with notice</a> for appearance. It was contended that there are no materials to indicate her involvement in the offence under IPC section 364-A for kidnapping.</p>.Hassan sex abuse: Prajwal is before SIT to give fullest cooperation, says lawyer.<p>On the other hand, the SIT submitted that there are sufficient materials to indicate Bhavani’s overt act in the case. It was submitted that on May 13, 2024, during the course of investigation, the SIT invoked provision of IPC sections 120-B and 109 with due permission from the jurisdictional court. The prosecution submitted a CD before the court comprising auto-recorded conversations between Bhavani and another accused Rajagopal through the mobile of her driver. The victim was at Rajagopal’s farm house, the prosecution said.</p><p>According to the prosecution, it was at the instance and direction of Bhavani that the victim was taken away by another accused Satish Babanna to the farm house of Rajagopal for the purpose of her confinement in a deceitful manner stating that the victim was implicated in some criminal case. </p><p>It was also submitted that petitioner had helped her son to commit sexual abuse and exploitation of several women and recording of the sexual act. The prosecution further submitted that Bhavani’s custodial interrogation is essential in the case and that it would be impossible to elicit any information from her if not remanded to custody.</p>
