<p>Sandalwood’s magnum opus KGF turned the talking point at the 11th edition of the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes).</p>.<p>Filmmakers from both India and abroad made a special mention of the Yash-starrer, which created quite a stir globally after its December 2018 release.</p>.<p>The movie was also one of the first to be touched upon by Dana Krush, Consul General of Israel, at a press conference. “KGF created a huge buzz across the globe. We were happy to see a Kannada movie making that big an impact on world cinema and also getting dubbed into many languages,” Krush said.</p>.<p>KGF was screened to a packed house at the film festival. “There was demand to add another show of the movie. However, it was not possible,” one of the jury members told DH.</p>.<p>'The Success Story of KGF', a discussion about the movie, saw the participation of music director Ravi Basrur, art director Shivakumar and actor Ram, who played Garuda in the film. However, the main topic was the technical richness of the movie.</p>.<p>KGF also became the first Kannada film to be featured on Amazon Prime and Netflix. Talking about the movie, Akshaye Rathi, film exhibitor and distributor, said, “With KGF, the Kannada film industry has made its presence felt on the national scene. After being dubbed into many languages, it has now reached the global audience with subtitles.”</p>.<p>Director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, chairman of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy, said they just could not ignore the movie. “We can expect more KGFs in the future. Not everyone can make a KGF, but its success can inspire more quality filmmaking using both local and international technicians,” he said.</p>
