<p>With pre-monsoon showers lashing the city on a daily basis, potholes are back. City residents expect the coalition government, already governing the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, to take immediate steps to repair the roads.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Commuters in the city are complaining of potholes on Tumakuru Road, Mysuru Road, Dasarahalli, Bannerghatta Road, Jayanagar, Hessarghatta Road, Mahakavi Kuvempu Road near Srirampura, Seshadripuram, Kasturba Road, Indiranagar and Koramangala. Praveen Rao, a motorist, from Bagalagunte who travels to Peenya every day, said, “The condition of the road has become horrible after a few showers. This shows the quality of the roads constructed by the authorities.”</p>.<p class="bodytext">Though the BBMP has repaired roads following a series of accidents and deaths due to potholes in 2017, the recent rains have exposed the quality of the road works. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Mahadev Kumar, another motorist from Seshadripuram said: “I have complained about the pothole on the ‘Fix My Street’ app, but till now there is no response from the BBMP to repair the stretch near Seshadripuram Law College.</p>.<p>The residents also said that potholes are leading to minor accidents. Shekhar Sharma, a resident of Malleswaram, said, “Recently, during the rain when I was riding my scooter near Srirampura, I was about to fall off because of a huge pothole. This makes it very difficultly for motorists to ride since we cannot see the potholes in the night.”</p>.<p>A senior officer from the BBMP said, “The officials are preparing the reports on the potholes, and the Palike will start the work of repairing the roads soon.”</p>.<p>"We conducted a meeting with officials on Monday and have given direction to take all measures to ensure that the potholes are repaired soon,” another senior BBMP official said.</p>
