I don’t think out-of-the-box, but I make an effort to look different. I would like to wear something that suits my body type and makes me look good and feel comfortable.
.
You’ve received good reviews on your role in ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ and it was also your Bollywood debut. How was the experience?
.
Yes. I am glad that I got to work with such fine actors in my Bollywood debut. Sonam is a fashion icon, so there was a lot to learn from her. That deepened my interest in fashion. The entire journey was a wonderful experience.
.
We last saw you in the Kannada film industry in ‘Suryakanthi’ opposite Chetan. Do you plan to do more Kannada films?
.
I have been getting a lot of offers from the Kannada film industry, but I am unable to focus on them because of my commitments in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. I would like to do more Kannada films, provided I get roles that are challenging.
.
Would something on the lines of KGF interest you, especially since it has done really well?
.
Yes. It is nice to see Sandalwood doing so well. Earlier, its reach was limited but today it is on par with the other industries. It is great to see films like Lucia and U-Turn break new ground in terms of their stories and success at the box office. I would certainly want to do something on the lines of KGF, if something like that comes my way.
.
Recently, one of the members of LGBTQIA tweeted that they’ve adopted you as their icon. What do you have to say about that? Do you feel responsible for their cause?
.
I’ve always been an inclusive person and I don’t think inclusivity applies only to a particular group because I have always believed that even among your friends and family you must be able to accept people as they are. I would walk together with all people, irrespective of who they are.
.
I also think that we need to be aware of what is happening around us and be sensitive towards people and their problems.
