<p>A 23-year-old software engineer was killed in a road accident during the early hours of Thursday. The victim has been identified as Daniel Bobby Kumar, a resident of Marathahalli. Kumar was employed at Dell, the police said.</p>.<p>According to the police, Kumar was returning home after work around 1.30 am when the accident occurred. Kumar, who was overspeeding, lost control of the two-wheeler near the Borewell Junction bus stop at HAL's Old Airport Road.</p>.<p>As he fell down, his head hit the edge of a footpath. He sustained head injuries as he was not wearing a helmet, said Anupam Agarwal, DCP (Traffic), East division. He had reportedly consumed alcohol, the police added.</p>.<p>Passersby rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The body was shifted to Bowring Hospital for postmortem. The traffic police have registered a case of unnatural death.</p>.<p>Meanwhile, Kumar's parents suspect foul play in their son's death. They told the police that their son had no reason to be at HAL or the Borewell Junction.</p>.<p>"Based on the parents' remarks, we have taken up an additional Section 174C (pertaining to unnatural death), and investigations are under way," DCP Agarwal said.</p>
