‘Book those submitting fake Covid negative certificates’

The officials should register a police complaint if they come across people with a fake Covid-19 certificate entering the district from Kerala, said Deputy Commissioner Charulata Somal.

Chairing a Covid-19 vaccination task force meeting, she said the surveillance should be strengthened in border areas.

If the primary and secondary contacts of the Covid-19 victims failed to cooperate, then action should be initiated against them under the Disaster Management Act, she said.

Charulata said that if a positive case is reported, then primary and secondary contacts should be traced.

The officials should focus on tourist spots and ensure that people wear a mask and maintain physical distance, she said.

A fine should be imposed on those who fail to adhere to the guidelines of the government, she added.
