<p class="title">The Lok Sabha election in Byndoor Assembly segment coming under Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency will be held on Tuesday. There are 12 candidates in fray in the constituency.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The Assembly segment has 2,26,587 voters with 1,16,249 female voters and one transgender voter. It covers 26 villages in Byndoor taluk and 39 villages in Kundapur taluk of Udupi district.</p>.<p class="bodytext">There are 246 polling booths in Byndoor of which, 75 are considered sensitive booths. Five Sakhi booths have been set up at Hemmadi and Thallooru. The Sakhi booths are decked up to attract the voters.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The district administration has made all arrangement for the senior citizens and specially abled to exercise their franchise in the polling booths. Wheelchairs, magnifying glasses and service of volunteers have been arranged at the polling booths.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The service of total of 1,334 polling officers are being used for the smooth conduct of election.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the polling. Three DySP, 103 inspectors, 33 SIs, 149 ASIs, and 23 personnel have been deployed in addition to DAR personnel and central paramilitary personnel. As many as 20 sector officers have been appointed. Each sector officer will manage 12 to 13 polling booths.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The mustering activities were taken up at Government PU College in Byndoor on Monday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The polling officials left for their respective polling booths after collecting EVMs and VVPATs from the mustering centre.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Assistant Returning Officer Kusumadhara said that all the basic facilities, including toilets, drinking water supply, have been provided at the polling booths. Deputy Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, and SP Nisha James visited the mustering centre and inspected the arrangements.</p>
