<p>The district administration has erected a chain link mesh around the disputed burial site located opposite Sri Guru Dattatreya Bababudan Swami Dargah on Chandragiri Mountain in the district.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The barbed wire fence around the burial ground had been removed and was replaced with a six-foot chain link mesh to prevent people from sneaking into the crematorium.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Nirmithi Kendra Project Director Ramakrishne<br />Gowda said the mesh has been installed at a total<br />cost of Rs 7.5 lakh.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Earlier, one could sneak into the crematorium by bending the rusted barbed wire fence. But, now, it is virtually impossible to sneak through the iron rods and meshes, he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">During Datta Jayati in December 2017, miscreants had jumped the fence to enter the burial ground and had created a tense situation. The police had a tough time to manage the crowd.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Following the incident, the district administration had installed a chain link mesh around the burial ground and the ‘jamala’ at the Peetha.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Devotees throng Sri Guru Dattatreya Bababudan Swami Dargah shrine in December in order to have a glimpse of ‘Datta Paduka’.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The work on installing the new meshes was completed a week ago.
