<p>With the participation of 300 teams, the Hassan zonal-level Prajavani Quiz championship, organised by The Printers (Mysore) Limited (TPML), at Ambedkar Bhavan, here, on Wednesday, received overwhelming response.</p>.<p>The students of Christ School, in the city, emerged winners and were selected for the state finals, scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on January 24. While students of MESSSR DHSS of Chikkamagaluru bagged the second prize, United Academy, Hassan, students, emerged as the third best performers.</p>.<p>The fifth edition of Prajavani Quiz Championship attracted 300 teams, each comprising two participants, from Hassan and Chikkamagaluru districts.</p>.<p>A school was allowed to send a maximum of three teams. Out of them, six teams, who secured the highest marks in the preliminary written test, were qualified for the competition.</p>.<p>The students were given 20 questions to answer in the preliminary round. The competition was held in ‘Icebreakers’, ‘Image Mixed Bag’, ‘Connect’ and ‘Buzzer’ rounds.</p>.<p>The questions related to historical importance of Hassan and Chikkamagaluru made the event interesting. The students were all excited to know the facts about the two districts.</p>.<p>The quiz competition commenced at 10.30 am and the students, accompanied by their parents and teachers, started reaching the venue since 8.30 am.</p>.<p>The auditorium was almost full, as a large number of participants gathered.</p>.<p>Stevan and Jobin, who represented Christ School, emerged as winners.</p>.<p>The students were seen going through Deccan Herald and Prajavani dailies to update themselves on current affairs. Even the parents and teachers were seen educating the students on general knowledge.</p>.<p>Deeksha Group of Institutions and Canara Bank sponsored the event. Hassan Superintendent of Police A N Prakash Gowda distributed prizes to winners. Certificates were issued among all participants. Student Naveen, who celebrated his birthday, inaugurated the event.</p>.<p>The publishers of Deccan Herald, Prajavani, Sudha and Mayura, The Printers (Mysore) Limited (TPML), have organised the quiz competition for children of Class 5 to Class 10. While the first prize in the finals is Rs 50,000, the second, third, fourth and fifth prizes respectively are Rs 30,000, Rs 10,000, Rs 6,000 and Rs 4,000.</p>
