<p class="title">As a part of Datta Jayanti celebrations, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal members took out a Shobhayatra in the city on Friday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Hundreds of devotees participated in the procession. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The Shobhayatra started from Kamadhenu Mahashakthi Ganapathi Temple on Rathnagiri Road.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The idol of Lord Dattatreya was taken out in a flower-decked vehicle in the procession. Firecrackers, Veeragase Kunitha, Gombekunitha and other cultural troupes added colour to the procession. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The police had kept a tight vigil and strengthened security to prevent any untoward incidents during the<br />procession. </p>.<p class="bodytext">People were seen on either side of the roads and buildings to get a glimpse of the procession.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The devotees recited Guru Dattatreya Bhajans throughout the procession route. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The procession passed through Basavanahalli Main Road, Hanumanthappa Circle and MG Road before<br />culminating at Azad Park.</p>.<p class="bodytext">MP Shobha Karandlaje, MLA C T Ravi, BJP leader D N Jeevaraj and others were present. The Datta Jayanti will be held on December 22.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Dattatreya devotees will leave for Sri Guru Dattatreya Bababudan Swamy Dargah to have Darshana of Lord Dattatreya’s Paduke.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The vehicles are allowed from 6 am in the morning. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The police have strengthened security at the Guru Dattatreya Bababudan Swamy Dargah and in Chikkamagaluru. </p>
