<p>The Krishi Kshethrotsava organised by the Ponnampet Forestry College, the University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences and Agriculture Research Station was successful in introducing high yielding and disease resistant different varieties of paddy seeds. </p>.<p class="bodytext">As a part of the Kshethrotsava, a two-day seminar on sustainable agriculture practices for changing weather patterns was also held.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The local farmers interacted with the scientists and experts from the university and research station on the occasion.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Farmers said that the research stations should focus on apiculture and cardamom cultivation.</p>.<p class="bodytext">There is a need to create awareness on mixed farming among the farmers to improve the income of the farmers, they opined. </p>.<p class="bodytext">An exhibition of farm implements, medicinal and ornamental plants was the centre of attraction.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Women had exhibited a variety of eatables, juices, wines and others on the occasion. </p>.<p class="bodytext">University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga Extension Officer T H Gowda and others were present.</p>
