<p>A fire broke out at the neonatal ICU of Lady Goschen Hospital in Mangaluru on Sunday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">As soon as the fire was noticed, all the nine children were shifted. Fire service personnel from Pandeshwar rushed to the spot and doused the fire. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking to <span class="italic">DH</span>, Superintendent Dr Savitha said there was a leak in one of the oxygen cylinders at 10:30 am, which was repaired immediately.</p>.<p class="bodytext">However, another technical snag developed in the cylinder and a fire was noticed on one of the neonatal phototherapy cradle (which did not have a baby). Immediately, all the nine babies from the NICU were shifted.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Six of the babies have been shifted to the neonatal ICU at Regional Advanced Paediatric Care Centre at Government Wenlock Hospital and three babies that were normal have been handed over to their mothers, she added.</p>
