<p>Karmikara Janti Kriya Samiti in the district will take part in the nationwide stir to be observed by the labour organisations on January 8 and 9, opposing the anti-labour policies of the Central government.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Addressing reporters in Madikeri on Monday, Karmikara Janti Kriya Samiti convener T P Ramesh said that the labour associations of various public sector organisations including LIC and BSNL have given a bandh call. Protests will be held in Madikeri, Somwarpet and Virajpet taluks on January 8.</p>.<p class="bodytext">A protest rally will be taken out by thousands of workers at 10.30 am on January 9. The rally will start from A V School premises and will culminate at the DC's office premises. </p>.<p class="bodytext">CITU joint secretary P R Bharat, leaders H B Ramesh and INTUC leader Nagaraj were present in the press meet.</p>
