<p>After a few people caused damage to the tomb inside the Kabrastan (burial place) in front of Sri Guru Dattatreya Bababudan Swamy Dargah during the previous Datta Jayanti celebrations, the district administration has sanctioned funds towards protecting the Kabrastan land.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The administration has ordered the installing of chain link mesh around the Kabrastan and the Jamana opposite to the Inam Dattatreya Peetha Dargah.</p>.<p class="bodytext">An estimate of Rs 10.95 lakh has been sanctioned towards the work. An amount of Rs 1.65 lakh has been sanctioned towards the repair of the tiles and the roof of the quarters and Rs 3 lakh towards the generator room.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Deputy Commissioner M K Srirangaiah said three works have been sanctioned in Inam Dattatreya Peetha. The work on the erection of fences in the burial site in front of the dargah is being provided attention to. The work has been entrusted to Nirmithi Kendra.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Nirmiti Kendra Project Director Rama Krishne Gowda said that the land with an area of 170 metres, will be elevated by eight feet, before installing the fences. The raw materials are ready. The work will be taken up as soon as the rain recedes. The work will be finished by September end.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Thousands of devotees visit Datta Peetha for a glimpse of Datta Paduka during Datta Jayanti. Some people had sneaked into the Kabrastan during Datta Jayanti, which resulted in a chaotic situation.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Sri Guru Dattatreya Bababuden Swamy Darga Office Executive said that the people could make their way into the Kabrastan as the fence was in a dilapidated condition.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The work towards the repair of the tiles and roof of the quarters and also the generator room is complete. The work on repairing the fence is pending. It has been directed to the concerned people to take up the work soon, he added.</p>
