<p class="title">The brother of a missing fisherman, who was on board the ill-fated Suvarna Thribhuja fishing boat, has breathed his last at a private hospital in Udupi on Thursday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Chandrashekar, a resident of Bhatkal and brother of Ramesh, had consumed poison unable to come into terms with the ongoing mission’s failure to trace his brother.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He was shifted to Adarsha hospital in Udupi with the internal bleeding on Tuesday night. Chandrashekar, who was unmarried, was in deep anguish with the whereabouts of his elder brother- Ramesh remaining unknown since December, 15 2018.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Harish, cousin of Chandrashekar and who had accompanied the family to the hospital in Udupi, said Chandrashekar’s suicide attempt was like a double blow for Shaniyar Thimmappa Mogera, father of the brothers.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Both Shaniyar Thimmappa Mogera and his wife are bed-ridden since the time their son Ramesh had gone missing along with other six fishermen.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Adarsha Hospital Medical Director Dr G S Chandrashekar had said that the condition of Chandrashekar was critical when he was brought to the hospital and efforts were on to save him. “His liver had suffered extensive damage due to consumption of poisonous substance,” he said and added that the internal organs were completely damaged.</p>
