<p class="bodytext">The Aam Admi party in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony by offering free tea, sugarcane juice, bus and autorickshaw rides and haircuts on Thursday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Sadhguru Souharda Sahakari Limited (SSSL) in Udupi, held a special free health checkup at Pradhanamanthri Bharthiya Janaushadhi Kendra located in Dasharatha Nagar, Manipal. “Hundreds of people benefitted from the camp,” SSSL President Dr B N Shanthapriya told <span class="italic">DH</span>. Owner of Hotel Srinivas on Udupi-Manipal Road Narasimha Kini distributed free ‘payasam’ to public.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Around 3,000 people relished the sweet ‘payasam’. The free payasam was initially planned for customers. Later, Kini and volunteers including Raghavendra Kini, Dawood Abubakar, Girish Anchan and Geetha Shet, distributed payasam to bus passengers at Kadiyali bus stand.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Narendra Modi fans in Udupi organised a Brahma Rathothsava Seva on Car Street and prayed to Lord Krishna to ensure the success of Modi’s government. BJP Udupi and DK districts organised public viewing of Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony on LED screen (near district BJP offices) in Kadiyali and PVS circle.</p>.<p class="bodytext">In Mangaluru a private bus, Kotian, plying from Moodbidri to Mangaluru via Kinnigoli and Haleangadi ferried passengers free of cost in six trips covering a distance of over 250 kms.</p>.<p class="bodytext">As many as 15 autorickshaw drivers ferried passengers free of cost for a distance of 5 km. Members of Modi fans’ association in Jeppinamogaru, distributed tea free of cost to the public. A vendor near Hampankatta old bus stand went one step ahead and distributed free sugarcane juice to a grateful public.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Fans distributed 10,000 laddoos in Sullia. One vendor, Fakirabba distributed free jasmine garlands worth about Rs 2,500 to women on K S road. Bantwal MLA Rajesh Nayak Ulepadygutthu offered special poojas and held bhajan sessions at Raktheshwari temple in BC road.</p>
