<p class="title">In a humanitarian act, the Muslim youth of Siddapura performed the last rites of a Hindu woman who died in Arekadu.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Bammi (95), an elderly woman belonging to a family of plantation workers, had passed away on Tuesday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The son of the deceased woman informed the Arekadu Muslim Jamaat that there was no one to help him in carrying out the final rites. The Jamaat President P M Moosa asked the youth of the village to extend a helping hand. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The Muslim youth, in the presence of the son of Bammi, carried out the last rites at the Hindu crematorium.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Arekadu Gram Panchayat member P K Yusuf Ali, B Y Prabhushekhar, villagers C K Muhammed Kutti, Ibrahim, K Y Sulaiman, P Ashraf and Abu were present.</p>
