<p>Director and Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy president Nagathihalli Chandrashekar on Wednesday urged for the establishment of a special museum on Kannada matinee idol Dr Rajkumar. He was speaking at the 91st birth anniversary celebration of Rajkumar, organised by the Academy and the Information department.</p>.<p>Nagathihalli said, “The cine journey of Dr Rajkumar should be documented in the museum. Through the museum, the meaningful life of Rajkumar can be showcased to our future generations. The film fraternity should convince the government about the importance of the museum.”</p>.<p>He expressed unhappiness over the neglect in documenting Rajkumar’s contributions.</p>.<p>“Rajkumar called for a united Karnataka, which brought all regions of the state together. This was the key aspect of the Gokak movement.<br />All these incidents should be documented in history,” Nagathihalli said.</p>.<p>Kannada poet K S Nisar Ahmed said, “Rajkumar brought world recognition for Kannada language through his movies. Rajkumar’s achievements in the film world are equal to those of Kuvempu and Shivaram Karanth in the literature field.”</p>.<p>Rajkumar’s sons - Hat-trick Hero Shivarajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar - Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce president S A Chinne Gowda and director Yogaraj Bhat were present.</p>
