<p class="title">Former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday swore that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not return to power for a second term.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“Avara appana aane (swear on his father), Modi will not become the prime minister again,” Siddaramaiah told<br />a Youth Congress convention here. “Whatever somersaults they try, the BJP will not return to power.”</p>.<p class="bodytext">He called upon Youth<br />Congress workers to ensure that the Constitution was protected.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“The Constitution and<br />democracy are in danger ever since Modi became the Prime Minister. Like Germany’s Hitler, the BJP is fascist and they don’t believe in democracy,” Siddaramaiah said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Siddaramaiah had, before the May 2018 Assembly elections, swore on JD(S) chief<br />H D Deve Gowda that his son, H D Kumaraswamy, will not become the chief minister.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Siddaramaiah also launched a scathing attack on BJP state president<br />B S Yeddyurappa, calling him a “dhongi” (fake) farmers’ leader.</p>
