<p>Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has instructed top officials to ensure that that all files sent to him are in Kannada.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Kumaraswamy, through the office of Chief Secretary T M Vijaybhaskar, has<br />sent oral instruction that beginning November 1 (Kannada Rajyotsava day) files which reach him but are<br />not in Kannada will be returned.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Sources in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said Kumaraswamy had taken exception that despite several government orders and circulars directing the mandatory use of Kannada in all administrative matters, a section of officers were not following them.</p>.<p class="bodytext">This, even after the Kannada Development Authority warned them.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Exemption has been given to files related to inter-state matters, Centre and court issues.</p>
