<p>Heavy rain has resulted in 118 human deaths in the state so far this year, Revenue Minister R V Deshpande informed the Council on Wednesday.</p>.<p>In a written reply to Ivan D’Souza (Congress), Deshpande said the government had so far provided compensation of Rs 4.9 crore for human deaths and<br />Rs 58.05 lakh for cattle deaths. The total damage to property due to the showers is estimated at Rs 169.82 crore, he said.</p>
