Siddaramaiah supporters warn of black flag protest at Mysuru Dasara against Karnataka Governor Gehlot

The governor has given permission for prosecution against Siddaramaiah in the MUDA issue but Lokayukta’s plea for prosecution against H D Kumaraswamy and Shashikala Jolle are pending, K S Shivaramu, a staunch supporter of Siddaramaiah said.

Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s supporters have warned of holding a black flag protest, against Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, in Mysuru, on Saturday, if the latter attends the Mysuru Dasara celebrations.

It can be noted that the Governor traditionally attends the torchlight parade on the Bannimantapa Grounds on Vijayadashami. Besides, Siddaramaiah is a native of Mysuru and the latter has issued permission for prosecution against the CM. The High Court has also upheld the Governor’s move.

State Backward Classes Awareness Forum president K S Shivaramu, a staunch supporter of Siddaramaiah, issued the warning, on Wednesday.

Shivaramu said, a ‘Go Back Governor’ postcard movement will be held from Thursday, against the governor, accusing him of trying to destabilise Siddaramaiah government, by misusing his Constitutional powers. The postcards, appealing to the President of India, to initiate action against the governor will be posted at Ramaswamy Circle post box, in Mysuru city, on Thursday.

He accused the Governor of working like a political agent of the BJP-JD(S) coalition, acting under the directions of the Centre, instead of delivering his constitutional responsibilities.

The governor has given permission for prosecution against Siddaramaiah in the MUDA issue, based on private complaints, although the Lokayukta’s plea for prosecution against BJP- JD(S) leaders like Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Shashikala Jolle are pending, he said.

He said, forum members and other supporters of Siddaramaiah will wave black flags against the Governor, en route Mysuru, from Bengaluru, on October 12.
