<p>Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar on Thursday stripped Assembly Secretary S Murthy of all administrative powers following complaints of his involvement in irregularities in awarding tenders.</p>.<p>The Speaker has ordered Murthy to handover all administrative files to his office with immediate effect.</p>.<p>“The Secretary shall henceforth look into only Assembly session duties while the session is in progress and attend to protocol duties,” Ramesh Kumar stated.</p>.<p>The office of the Speaker had recently received many complaints on Murthy’s involvement in irregularities in awarding tenders and purchases.</p>.<p>The Speaker had subsequently written to Chief Secretary T M Vijay Bhaskar to initiate steps to conduct an inquiry into those complaints.</p>
