<p>The High Court on Wednesday directed the Director of Prosecution to explain the process involved in the decision-making to propose the government for filing appeals against the orders of acquittal in cases under SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.</p>.<p>A division bench headed by Chief Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka was hearing a PIL. The petition alleged that SC/ ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989, and the corresponding rules are not being properly implemented and a large number of criminal cases are acquitted.</p>
