<p class="bodytext">Cooperation Minister Bandeppa Kashempur said that an appeal will be made to the Central government on fixing a uniform rate for agricultural products in APMCs across the country and to provide 75% subsidy to District Central Cooperative Banks through Nabard.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Addressing media persons, he said a delegation, led by JD(S) Supremo and MP H D Deve Gowda, will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a memorandum will be submitted to the him in this regard.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The minister welcomed the initiative by the Central government for announcing a minimum support price for 13 agricultural products.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“Also, agricultural warehouses should be set up for the benefit of farmers. Loans should be provided on the guarantee of products deposited in the warehouses,” he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“Currently, Nabard provides 40% subsidy to DCC banks. The percentage should be increased to 75%. If the farmers are willing, a ‘farmers bazaar’ will be set up in the district,” he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He said, “Stepping down of Minister N Mahesh, will not affect the coalition government. JD(S) supremo Deve Gowda will solve the issue amicably.”</p>
