<p>Federation of Historic Vehicles of India (FHVI) has organised the vintage car rally to Mysuru, to kickstart the Dasara festival in the heritage city.</p>.<p>The <span class="italic">Royal Classic Car Drive to Mysore 2018</span> will be flagged off from the Vidhana Soudha on September 30 by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.</p>.<p>Briefing about the event, Dr Ravi Prakash, president, FHVI said, “Fifty vintage and classic cars will be escorted by the police to Mysuru. This will be a great kickstart for Mysuru Dasara. We have 12 participants from overseas, 22 from across India and 16 participants from Bengaluru, a total of 50.”</p>.<p>Vintage cars taking part in the rally include Lanchester, Mercedes, MG’s Jaguar, Ford, Buick, Chevorlet, Morris, Austin, Alfa Romeo, Triumph, Volkswagen, Lincoln, etc.</p>.<p>“These are the models dating from 1920-80s. Patrick Rollet, president of the Federation International Vehicle Anciens (FIVA, official partner of UNESCO), said participants from France, Maharajas from Jaipur, Lucknow, Goa and well-known industrialists from India and overseas will be driving the cars till Mysuru,” Ravi Prakash said.</p>.<p>FHVI has scheduled the three-day event. The cars will be taken to tourist spots in Mysuru like Chamundi Hills, KRS dam, Lalith Mahal and Mysuru<br />Palace.</p>.<p>Ravi Prakash said, “The participants will be in traditional dress while drive the cars. The key attraction of the event will be the cars being parked in front of the Mysuru palace, before and after the illumination.”</p>
