<p>Mangaluru: A 66 year old woman died after a house collapsed following heavy rainfall at Borugudde Janata Colony in Nellikaru gram panchayat in Dakshina Kannada.</p><p>According to the police, the deceased is Gopi. Following copious rainfall on Wednesday night, Gopi’s house had collapsed fully and suffered serious injuries. Other family members have escaped unhurt. Though she was rushed to hospital in Karkala for treatment, she succumbed to the injuries sustained. MLA Umanath Kotian, Tahsildar Pradeep Kurdekar visited the spot.</p><p>Eleven lives have been lost following rain related incidents in Dakshina Kannada since April 1 till date.</p>.Moderate rains in Bengaluru waterlog roads, flood KIMS block .<p>Heavy rain lashed Modbidri and surrounding areas on Wednesday night. In the last 24 hours (ending 8:30 am on Thursday), Shirthady received highest of 269 mm rainfall followed by Marodi- 264 mm, Balanja- 250mm, Melanthabettu- 205 mm, Beluvai- 202 mm, Laila- 195.5 mm rainfall.</p><p>IMD has predicted scattered heavy to very heavy with isolated extremely heavy rain and sustained wind speed (30-40 kmph) to occur over Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi districts on Thursday.</p>
