Less government interferes in start-up ecosystem, more potential to be successful: Piyush Goyal

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal while addressing a gathering during a visit to the Science and Tech Entrepreneur Park at Savitribai Phule Pune University on December 12, said that the less the government interferes in the start-up ecosystem, the more potential it will have to be successful.

“I personally feel that the less the government interferes in the start-up ecosystem, the more potential it will have to be successful. Nationalisation has stymied the growth of several sectors. Look at the IT sector, it is successful in India because the government has no role to play. If I take the list of unicorns, almost none of them have taken the government's support to become unicorns,” said Minister Piyush Goyal.
