<p class="title">Close on the heels of a memo issued to a nun who took part in a protest against Jalandhar former bishop Franco Mulakkal who faced sexual allegations, four nuns who staged a sit-in in front of the Kerala High Court in this connection are being transferred.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The sisters of the Missionaries of Jesus convent at Kuravilangad in Kottayam district were directed by the Superior General to strictly comply with the transfer orders that were issued last year. The sisters had earlier refused to comply with the order.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Sisters Alphy, Anupama, Josephine and Ancitta were transferred to Bihar, Punjab, Jharkhand and Kannur respectively.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Sister Lucy Kalappura of the Mananthavady diocese in Wayanad in North Kerala, who also took part in the<br />stir, was issued a canonical warning and asked to explain why she spoke to the media and published articles against the church leadership in ‘non-Christian’ newspapers and caused insult to the church. The sister hasn’t given an explanation.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Bishop Franco is accused of sexually assaulting a nun multiple times between May, 2014 and September, 2016 during his visits to Kerala. He is charged with rape, unnatural sex, wrongful confinement and criminal intimidation.</p>
