With nearly 47,000 Covid-19 cases, India reports highest single-day spike of 2021

India reported a record-high number of infections in 2021 with 46,951 fresh Covid-19 cases with the Covid-19 tally mounting to 1,16,46,081. The Union Health Ministry reported 21,180 recoveries in the last 24 hours. The total recoveries reached 1,11,51,468. Currently, there are 3,34,646 active cases in the country and with 212 new deaths due to the coronavirus, the death toll stands at 1,59,967.
