<p class="title">Kami Rita Sherpa, a world record holder who has climbed the summit of Mount Everest 22 times, arrived in Pune for Giripremi’s ‘Kanchenjunga Eco Expedition 2019’s Special Program, to be organised on 17 July at 6:30 PM at the Kannada Sangh Auditorium, Dr. Shamrao Kalmadi Highschool, Ganesh Nagar, Erandvane.</p>.<p>Kami will be accompanied by Mingma Sherpa, first south Asian and Nepalese to climb the summit of all 14 8000-meter peaks in the world and Chairman of leading Sherpa Agency in Nepal - Seven Summit Treks, along with Wing Cdr Devidutta Panda, Vice Principal, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling.</p>.<p>After 6 successful expeditions on 6 of the 14 8000-meter peaks in the world, Giripremi has planned India’s largest civilian expedition on India’s highest mountain - Mount Kanchenjunga.</p>.<p>On February 4, 2018, Giripremi launched ‘Mount Kanchenjunga Eco Expedition 2019’ in the presence of veteran mountaineer, Everesteer and son of the great Sherpa Tenzing Norgay- Jamling Norgay. The actual expedition will take place in April-May 2019, however, several programs to promote the expedition will be organized throughout the year. As a part of this, a special program of the expedition is organized on 17 July 2018 which will be attended by all these guests.</p>.<p>The special guest of the program is Kami Rita Sherpa. Kami, who started his career as a mere porter, climbed great ladders during his career to become a first person with the most Everest summits. Kami, first scaled Mount Everest in 1994.</p>.<p>From 2002 to 2010, Kami summitted Everest nine times consecutively. He has worked in rope-fixing team and worked as a High-Altitude Worker on South Col-SE Ridge at 8000 meters altitude. The 48-year-old Kami has decided to work as a Sherpa climber till the age of 55. Thus, he has six seasons more and might end up scaling Mount Everest nearly 30 times. However, he doesn’t care about records.</p>.<p>He is a passionate climber and devoted all his life to mountains and mountaineering.
