NASA, ESA exploring ways for talking to the moon using 4G and 5G technologies after Odysseus soft landing on lunar
'Nasa has funded Nokia Bell Labs to demonstrate a 4G link from the lander to a rover on the Odysseus mission, which will be the first cellular network on the Moon and a fantastic opportunity for both model validation and technology demonstration,' said Michael Zemba, Nasa’s Lunar Surface Propagation principal investigator.
The American flag mounted to Odysseus' side closeout panel was certified for flight in 1970, during the height of the Apollo program. The NASA-donated flag didn't leave Earth during the Apollo program, but Odysseus completed its mission to the lunar surface on February 22, 2024. pic.twitter.com/ADPdUedwlf
