<p>Following a string of poor performances this season, experienced all-rounder Stuart Binny has been dropped from the Karnataka Ranji Trophy team for their next Elite Group ‘A’ fixture against Maharashtra in Mysuru from Wednesday. </p>.<p>The 34-year-old, who mustered just 53 and one wicket from the first two games, also endured a miserable run in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Binny managed a run and a wicket from the two games before he was dropped in the 50-over format tournament. </p>.<p>“He (Binny) has been in poor form. We want him to return to practice and get back into his groove. We don’t want his rough-patch to continue throughout the season. It’s not that Binny is totally out of our scheme of things. He is still relevant and we might require his services at some point of time,” said Raghuram Bhat, chairman of selection committee (senior team).</p>.<p>The selectors also dropped Shishir Bhavane, who failed to seize his chance against Mumbai in the previous game in Belagavi. The southpaw, who scored five runs in each innings, made way for rising opener Devdutt Padikkal.</p>.<p>“My committee believes in giving opportunities to players who are consistent.</p>.<p>“This is the right time to bring in youngsters and help them get ready for the next level. Devdutt has been in superb form and he also a brilliant fielder,” Bhat said. </p>.<p>Abhishek Reddy also made it to the squad that will be led by R Vinay Kumar.
