Modi 3.0 Cabinet Meet Highlights | Government has 3 Cabinet ministers from South, 2 MoS from Kerala
The newly formed Modi government 3.0 convened for its first Cabinet meeting on Monday, a little after 5 pm. The announcement of cabinet portfolios saw BJP's top brass retaining key portfolios. While Modi claimed Space and Atomic Energy, Amit Shah retained his post as Home Minister while Nirmala Sitharaman will continue as Finance Minister. Manohar Lal Khattar got Power and the Urban Affairs ministry and Nitin Gadkari has retained Road, Transport & Highways. All signs, including PM Modi's speech to PMO officials, point to a re-doubled focus on PM Modi's guarantees. In fact, the first file signed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his third tenure on Monday pertains to releasing 17th installment of the PM Kisan Nidhi and the first 'decision' by the new cabinet was to extend 'additional assistance' to 3 crore rural and urban households to build homes. The Finance Ministry also announced the release of ₹1,39,750 crore to states as 'additional installment of tax devolution'. Thank you for keeping track of the latest developments here, with DH.
