For the first time, Maharashtra assembly likely to be devoid of LoP as MVA parties fall flat
Hello and welcome to Maharashtra Election Result 2024 Live blog. The Maha Yuti alliance is all set to return to power in Maharashtra. The Maha Yuti alliance, which includes the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, BJP and the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP, has gone past the majority mark of 145 comfortably. The BJP has emerged as the single-largest party, with saffron camp likely to go past the 120-seats mark. The saffron camp significantly improved its vote share in the state compared to its performance in the 2019 assembly polls, with party crossing 25 per cent vote share. However, the CM's wife and his sister-in-law aren't doing so well, with Kalpana Soren railing in Gandey and BJP's Situ Murmu (alias Sita Soren) trails in Jamtara. This time, voter turnout reached a record 67.74 per cent, the highest since the formation of the state on November 15, 2000.
