Living museums of natural history
In the vicinity of Hesaraghatta lake, which is Bengaluru’s sole remaining grassland, researchers have documented approximately 235 bird species. The lesser florican, a bird thought to be extinct for 100 years, was rediscovered in 2011 in the Hesaraghatta grasslands.
