Suttur village, located on the banks of the river Kapila, is gearing up for the six-day annual festival (Jatra Mahotsava) of the 11th-century pontiff Sri Shivarathreeshwara. The festival will commence on January 21 and conclude on January 26.

80,000 cusecs out from Kabini reservoir, highest ever

With heavy rain lashing Wayanad district of Kerala, the inflow into the Kabini reservoir in H D Kote taluk of Mysuru district has increased and 80,000 cusecs of water was released into Kapila River on Thursday evening. This is said to be the highest ever, since the construction of the dam.

Inflow to Kabini declines, outflow remains same

As the flow of water to the Kabini dam from four reservoirs in Kerala slowly declined on Saturday, Macchur, Hosur, Anemala, Vadakanamala villages under D B Kuppe Grama Panchayat, returned to normalcy and villagers returned home from temporary shelters.
