BJP and JDS combined, have started a 10-day 'Mysore Chalo' march from Saturday (August 3) to protest against the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in Karnataka. The alliance has alleged that Congress has failed to carry out development in the state. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has said that the grand-old party will build more than 100 houses for landslide victims of Wayanad. Siddaramaiah also extended support to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and said that Karnataka will help build houses for Wayanad victims. Meanwhile, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan said that lanslide-hit Wayanad presented a very brilliant example of the coordination between the central government and the state government. In Maharashtra, former CM and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis continued to exchange barbs. A political storm had been kicked up in Uttar Pradesh following the gangrape of a 12-year-old girl. The accused is said to have connections with the opposition Samajwadi Party.
