Microsoft Outage Highlights | Several Times Square billboards went dark after outage; ‘handful’ still remain offline
Microsoft users globally, including India, earlier today faced massive disruption in services after the Washington-headquartered tech giant faced outage issues. According to Microsoft, the outage began at about 6 pm ET on Thursday as some customers faced issued with multiple Azure services in the Central US region. All Windows-based desktop and laptops have been affected. Ground operations at airports in India have been affected. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team, CERT-In, has issued a severity rating of ‘Critical’ for the incident. NSE and BSE have said that they have not been impacted while India’s Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, said the government was in touch with Microsoft over the on-going outage and that the NIC network is not affected. Income Tax portal remains insulated against impact of Microsoft outage in India
The income tax department portal did not face any major disruptions and worked fine despite the Microsoft global outage, the department and chartered accountants said.
“Don't think there are any issues at present,” Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said late in the evening on July 19, as per Moneycontrol.

Crowdstrike customers 'remain fully protected': CrowdStrike CEO
Crowdstrike's chief executive George Kurtz said the company's customers "remain fully protected" despite the ongoing IT outage. Earlier, he said a fix had been issued but that it could be "some time" before all systems are back up and running.

Around 3,340 flights have been cancelled worldwide, or about 3% of all scheduled services, according to aviation data company Cirium.
This is the total number of cancellations, meaning some may not be due to the IT outage.
